Javascript setAttribute in IE 7 and IE 6

I struggled with this for quite a while. If you’re looking to do the typical:
var newLink = document.createElement("img");
newLink.setAttribute("onclick", "alert('You clicked me')");
You will be upset to discover this works in Firefox and IE 8, but not IE 7 or IE 6. After some Googling I found a nice explanation by Justin French.
The fix:
var newLink = document.createElement("img");
newLink.onclick [...]

Peter Schiff Predictions

Peter Schiff, president of Euro Pacific Capital, predicted many of the economic problems we have faced since this recession began. Every other financial “expert” was laughing at him and calling him crazy for his predictions. While watching this video I had to ask myself, is Peter Schiff brilliant or just lucky?

FastTrack Program

I have applied to the Georgia Tech M.S. in Computer Science program. Since I’m an undergraduate at Tech I have the option to apply for the FastTrack program. Basically, if you’re a current GT student and have a GPA higher than 3.4 along with one letter of recommendation from a College of Computing faculty member [...]

Barack Obama

This blog is primarily for my school happenings and web development discoveries, but with the inauguration of Barack Obama occurring today, I’ve decided to give my political views on the situation, plus it’s my blog and I’ll do what I like
I voted for Obama and I’ve supported him from the beginning. I support [...]

Job Offers and Grad School

Last semester (Fall ‘08) was one of the busiest I’ve ever had. Not only was I working part time at GTRI and taking classes as usual, but I was a TA and also going to career fairs and on job interviews. It was a great experience and I made some great connections, but tiring to [...]

CSS IDs vs. Classes

As the 1 or 2 of you who read my blog know I recently created my own wordpress theme. Being that I’m NOT a CSS guru and I’ve pretty much taught myself everything I know about CSS, I made a few mistakes along the way. Pretty much everything went well, except my site fails XHTML [...]

This Past Month

Where have I been this past month?
Well, this is definitely the busiest semester I’ve ever had at Georgia Tech. To go along with that, I attended a career fair and lined up a few interviews in the process. I’m still trying to decide between grad school and the work force, so I decided I’d see [...]

Yellow Jacket Football is Back!

It’s a little late, but I went to the opening game vs. Jacksonville State last week. While JSU is not a formidable opponent, it was quite a show put on by Paul Johnson’s spread, triple option offense scoring 41 points. The defense didn’t miss a beat either giving up only 7 points in most of [...]
